Fake Google powered Antivirus is Malware

Some security researchers have found a fake antivirus which is actually a malware. The strange thing about this malware is that it claims to be powered by Google.

Some highly SEO optimize website with Good ranking in Google Search are being used by attackers to spread this malware. When a user visits any of this malicious website, the website shows a fake virus warning message. This message warns users to download or they will block their access to all Google services. The message says, "Google systems have detected unusual traffic from your computer. Please check your PC on viruses. To continue, please download and install our antivirus software. [DOWNLOAD button] or our system will block your access to Google services."

All those visitors who download the antivirus in order to avoid service blockage of various Google services, served a malware which contains Trojan.Win32.Fakeav.tri (v). This Trojan is really harmful. To know more you can search for this Trojan in Google.  It means a Trojan which is claiming to be a antivirus.

It is my personal suggestion not to believe any of these kinds of spams which claim to be the part of such a big companies. No company launches this company silently. If you are not sure, then search in Google or other search engine to know more before trusting. Run Google Chromium OS on Your Notebook

Google’s Chrome OS has been in the limelight for a while now, but many of us have come to assume that the operating system is only available to those using Google’s Chromebooks. Samsung and Acer are the two brands selling Chromebooks in international markets.

So what do you do in such cases, where an operating system that’s deemed to be free isn’t really available on Google’s site? Well, you download it from a third party developer’s page. In this case, we’ll show you how to download and install a Chromium OS build on a USB drive. It’s quite simple really and it doesn’t take more than five minutes once you have the 240-odd megabyte image downloaded.

What you need

Here’s what you’ll need to get Chromium OS running.

Chrome OS image (in this case, Hexxeh’s Chromium OS build )

USB Flash drive or hard drive with at least 2GB of space (We recommend using a 4GB Flash drive, at least)

Windows Image Writer

Downloading the Chromium builds

Hexxeh is the person behind the Hexxeh Chromium builds. The site contains a bunch of builds and the Flow build though stable, is a little outdated. The newer builds can be found here.

Vanilla builds are updated regularly

Remember that the Chromium builds aren’t official stable builds, so there’re bound to be some issues and glitches that you’ll notice. They might offer better compatiblity with your hardware. Find the build you need and download it. The download size of the archives is likely to be between 240 and 327 MB.

Uncompress the image

The downloadable images are available as .tar.gz files, which can be extracted using a compression tool such as 7zip. The only file within that archive will be a .tar file. Follow the same process and extract that file again. The file you should end up with is a .IMG file.

Writing the image to the flash drive

Before you write the Chromium OS image to the Flash drive, ensure that you have all the data from it securely. Next, start Windows Image Writer and select the drive letter for the flash drive.

Choose the .IMG file and click on the Write icon. This process should take a few minutes. Chromium OS will then be installed on your flash drive.

Reboot into Chromium OS

The next step is to boot your notebook or desktop using the connected flash drive. Enter the CMOS by pressing the F1, F2 Or Del key. This differs from one motherboard to another. Enable USB booting, as well as set the boot order to let the USB flash drive boot first. Once this is done, save settings and reboot the PC. The flash drive should automatically boot into Chromium OS.

Once booted, simply login using your Google account and you should be able to install web apps available on the Chrome store and use your own notebook as if it were a Chromebook

Upgrading to BackTrack 5 R2

The long awaited release of the BackTrack 5 R2 kernel has arrived, and it’s now available in our repositories. With a spanking brand new 3.2.6 kernel, a huge array of new and updated tools and security fixes, 
BT5 R2 will provide a more stable and complete penetration testing environment than ever before. We 
will start a series of blog posts on how to upgrade, deal with VMWare, and even build your own updated BT5 R2 by yourself. For now though, here’s how to get the new kernel and all of the updated goodness:


1. Update and upgrade your BT5 (R1) installation:
apt-get update 
apt-get dist-upgrade
apt-get install beef
reboot
Once that’s done, you should already have the new kernel installed as well as any last updates we have 
for the official R2 release. You need to reboot to have the 3.2.6 kernel kick in.


2. OPTIONAL – Once rebooted, log back in, and get your pretty splash screen back.
fix-splash 
reboot
On the next reboot, you should see the red console splash screen appear.


3. Verify that you are running a 3.2.6 kernel:
uname -a
You should see something like “Linux bt 3.2.6 …”


4. Feel free to install any or all of the new tools featured in BackTrack 5 R2:
apt-get install pipal findmyhash metasploit joomscan hashcat-gui golismero 
easy-creds pyrit sqlsus vega libhijack tlssled hash-identifier wol-e dirb reaver

5. Add the new security updates repository to /etc/apt/sources.list, and run another upgrade.

apt-get dist-upgrade
During the last upgrade you’ll be asked about file revision updates. Make sure to always keep the 
locally installed file. Feel free to press “Enter” and accept all the defaults.

6. Some of the newly installed services will be set to start on boot. We like disabling these as needed:
/etc/init.d/apache2 stop
/etc/init.d/cups stop
/etc/init.d/winbind stop


update-rc.d -f cups remove 
update-rc.d -f apache2 remove 
update-rc.d -f winbind remove
And…you’re done! Expect a more comprehensive introduction to BT5 R2, on the day of the Official 
release – March 1st! The BackTrack 5 R2 ISOS will we available for download from site on March 1st 
via Torrent only. HTTP links will be added a few days later.

Latest Tata DoCoMo 3G/3.5G HSDPA Hack 2012

Well! This is my second post on Tata DoCoMo 3G hack. In this post, I am going to tell you an latest working trick of Tata DoCoMo 3G hack which consists of high speed downloading though HSDPA. Actually for the past 3 months due to 3G data hack, Now Tata DoCoMo has banned or blocked 3g Signals along with 2G plans. Hence if we get 3G signals in 2G plan we can use our mobile for 3G surfing. So lets get back to 3G signals again.

Procedure for Tata DoCoMo 3.5G hack (High speed downloading)

1. First of all activate an 3G plan in DoCoMo worth Rs 11.
2. Now immediately activate any 2G plan of Rs 15, 69 etc. It depends upon your usage. Note- choose and activate only 1 plan.
3. That’s it! Now switch to UMTS in phone settings and you will get your 3G signals again with 2G plan. To check your usage, type *111*1# with your mobile keypad.
4. Hence connect your mobile to pc along with 3G signals and you will get 3G high speed downloading + surfing again and the good thing is that the usage will deduct from 2G data in MBs or KBs etc.
